App Review: MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal is a mobile phone app (iOS and Android) and web based service designed to make it easy for you to track your activity and calorie intake. This app allows you to accurately track exactly what you are putting into your body and manage nutrient levels to assist weight gain and weight loss during a cut.

MyFitnessPal was founded in 2005 by Albert and Mike Lee, the two ran the company and amassed a membership level of 80 million users worldwide. The company was sold in 2015 for $475million (aprox £325million) to the well renownd fitness giant Under Armour.

Since its acquisition MyFitnessPal has continued to expand its arsenal allowing members to sign up for a premium membership that allows users to further drill down into their nutritional information.

With a bar code scanner and vast database of foods available, MyFitnessPal allows you to track your day to day calorie intake, exercise and activity and set goals generated based on your body weight and intended weight goal.

I personally have been using MyFitnessPal since day 1 of my transformation and I actively recommend it to friends. It is absolutely vital that you take control of your daily intake and MyFitnessPal puts that power in the palm of your hand!
